This is last week’s Monday (shock horror) I mentioned that I had a little incident not a bad one that led to me having to do a disaster recovery pos instead. So, here is what I was gonna share – except for the link love which is a bit different. Smooches you lovely lot!
Well, welcome to Monday. I’m very proud of myself as I started running; finally – I half ran/walked- coughed, spluttered, and cursed. But, it felt amazing – I know that I am nowhere near marathon standard. But, running around the streets made me feel like a kid, when my favourite time was when the bell rang for break and I flapped around in a circle like a demented lunatic, zipping up and down the concrete feeling free. So, I have nothing but respect and admiration for anyone who has taken part in a Marathon.
So, I’ve signed up for my Team Bangs on the Run newsletter, and look forward to that golden time where I run like a maniac without stopping for nothing and no one!
So, hero of the week has got to be a running based one, and it is a bit of amazing history. Katherine Switzer the first woman to take part in the Boston Marathon. It goes to show how much we take for granted – and how far we have come, and how far we still have to go. But, brilliant that Katherine showed heroism and determination by not giving up despite the race official and completing the marathon. Amazing.
Also, on the topic of amazing women and the marathon just a whole lot of love and respect for the late Claire Squires, it is a story that can’t fail to move you, and it goes to show that even in tragedy – good things can happen.
And the link love for the week goes to:

It is all about Aruna Seth today darlings, this is the ultimate in girly pretty in an amazing array of colours too. Swarovski gorgeousness that has adorned the feet of Hollywood A-Listers, lovers!!!!
These are super beautiful! When we got to see the pretties in person, we almost grabbed armful of these and ran away into the dusty pink twilight. Wow wih a side order of wee… let the shoe crushing commence!
We spy with our beady eyes something that fills us with glee, and the objects of loveliness are these lovely bits of paper. Normally, our favourite paper has the well rendered ink sketches of heads of state and dead presidents. But, in this instance we are all about the love of these beauties from the Pom Pom Factory.
How much do we love these, let us count the little ways. The Pom Pom Factory is the brain baby of London based Artisan, Karen Hsu. Apart from pimping windows of some of London’s famous stores. Name check for the land of yellow bags – Selfridges.
The other thing that is a bit wunderbar, is that all Pom Pom Factory’s products are made from 100% bio-degradable and recyclable Pyrène tissue paper which is a natural product. How nice is that, so you bathe your eyes in some Pom Pom Factory goodness. Now go pay homage to the pretty paper!
All the photographic glory belongs to Pom Pom Factory
