The Last Forty Percent // Natalie & Jeremy
We are totally devoted and hopelessly in like with these dazzling images from Ewan Phelan: the Last Forty percent. There is a gentle serenity and beauty that permeates every inch of every photograph. You can feel the ease and love between Natalie and Jeremy, and as always we are stooges for nature. The natural warmth and energy makes us feel liike voyeurs looking in rather than feeling that this is a couple merely posing for the camera.
We had to borrow the lovely words from Brianna (the one in charge) as apart from our mouths opening and gaping like fish, and our usual cooing and ahhing – we are a bit awestruck with these. More than a bit, really awestruck
Brianna wrote “Natalie and Jeremy had just purchased their first home. It was perfect and everything they’d ever dreamed of. Everything went smoothly on move-in day and seemed to get done in record time. With the last of the boxes being brought in, Jeremy informed her that he had to return the rental truck. Right away. And alone. Natalie just assumed he didn’t want to unpack the boxes and didn’t give his strange behaviour a second thought. But as one hour rolled into two she started to wonder where he went. And then as three hours rolled into four she started to worry. She questioned her family, who suggested that maybe he was picking up a puppy as a house warming gift (they were in on his plan all along, just trying to throw her off). And when Jeremy finally burst through the door saying, “I have a surprise” and carrying a huge box, she was certain she knew exactly what was going on. But as she opened the box, it wasn’t a puppy at all. Instead, she found a bouquet of flowers. A bottle of champagne. Cheese and crackers. And a teddy bear. As she picked up the teddy bear, the twinkle caught her eye. There on it’s hand was an engagement ring. And Jeremy asking her to marry him. It was the perfect start to their lives together in their beautiful new home.’
Thanks yous to Brianna for the words and the talented Ewen for the imagery – and a big salute to the Last Forty Percent!

Thank you so much for sharing Natalie and Jeremy’s engagement session. We loved photographing these two and can’t wait for their wedding day
