Advance warning: I have to add this is a totally gratuitous post. But, since I can feel my body slowly disintegrating into a papery mass that bio oil can’t rescue – you will have to indulge me, or alternatively you can do an massive award winning eye roll at seeing my little face (but intermediate/big forehead *not Rhi Rhi big*) in front of the camera.
So if you don’t want to see a blogger in a photoshoot please look away now!
So here it goes…
So, I want to start this off by saying what a lucky person I am to know someone as generous, frigging awesome, and sweet as the ridiculously talented Madam Catherine Frawley of Lily and Frank Photography *pulls out lighter and rocks from side to side*.
She is just so brilliant it is unreal, and I am grateful to be able to call her ‘friend’! Now, that lovely lead up is because she is the great one who is responsible for these amazeballs images of me.
The reason why I need to fix up, look sharp on the picture front is that well the images I took of myself on my camera are how do you say… yes…erm… craptastical, and in anticipation of the newness I’m finally getting around to sorting in 2012; I wanted some new passport photos!
One sun filled, gorgeous London day the Frawley and I met at Southbank and this was our camera adventure. We were lucky enough to stumble on a secret rooftop garden at the National Gallery. Oh yes, sun and blue skies were out but it was one hell of windy day they say don’t work with animals and children, but balloons should be added to that list as well – the little buggery buggins were enacting the rubber and air filled equivalent of The Great Escape. I helplessly watched a helium filled 3ft balloon float off into the air.
You will also note that the expression on my face is orthodontist 65 degrees all the way through and that is honestly because I don’t recall laughing so much ever. So, yeah you can play count the teeth!
My fave moment was the tourists watching me bouncing around like a maniac in amongst the super cool skateboarders and BMX riders, bless them they probably thought I was gonna do some Evel Knievel style stunt. But, their disappointment was palpable when I just bounced around and laughed like a loon – good times!
Also, any couple thinking ‘Oh, wow I really want to do my love shoot on space hoppers!’, don’t expect to be knocking boots – I spent 4 days afterwards wandering around like John Wayne. But, on the bright side by the time the lactic acid was at its worst I could bounce a brazil nut on the side of my thigh and crack the shell open!
So, I salute my friend, camera goddess, and all round awesome lady of the lens Catherine of Lily and Frank. If she could make all of this *shakes hips and points at the flaws* look good imagine how pixel sexy she will make you look! Get thee to her site and check her the hell out!
