We are in love with this shoot – aren’t they just adorable! They being the rather lovely and in love Shelly & Kevin. We love what Shelly had to say on this particular shoot:
“Kevin and I view music as one of the most meaningful and necessary aspects of our lives. Music is deeply woven into our personalities, and music is what brought us together in the first place. At our engagement shoot, it was important to us to include music in some way, incorporating Kevin’s guitar as a prop, for starters.
With downtown Nashville as a backdrop, we were able to capture that side of ourselves. Neither of us come from musical families or backgrounds, but made music our own thing for ourselves. Piano, clarinet and multiple school bands were a huge part of who I was growing up and taught me so many things, music and non-music related. Kevin got his first guitar when he was 13 and quickly set out to learn his favorite songs on the guitar, starting with Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “Simple Man” (the song he would end up dancing to, with his mom at the wedding).
By 16, he was playing gigs around his hometown of York, PA and soon after began writing his own songs and formed a band called “Southern Roots.” They played across Pennsylvania, Maryland, and New York. Kevin moved to Nashville permanently in 2003. Since then, Kevin has logged countless hours playing at various writer’s nights around town and has recorded 2 live CDs. ”
So you have read the words and it time for you to listen with your eyes and enjoy these fantastic images from Joe Hendricks Photography.
