Let Them Eat a Cake Worthy of Death

Let Them Eat a Cake Worthy of Death

We don’t have any sophisticated thoughts about this cake – we just want to mash our faces into it and suffocateourselves in the tiers…  a kind of sponge seppuku (yeah we know it is stomach slashing but seppuku is a cute word for a brutal act and we are going to stick with it) .

The great thing is that there are already black flowers on top of the cake, so we are covered for a burial wreath and we would like our tombstone to read ‘Here Lies Beyond Beyond, they died for cake’…  in the years to come people will realise what a noble sacrifice it was, and ballads will be written.

In the mean time you can see more killer (pun may or may not be intended) inspiration over on 100 Layer Cake where first we spied this cake) it’s beautiful as is the rest of the incredible shoot. We will see you in a while wedding crocodiles, we want to give this death by cake ting-and-ting a test run with some Battenberg and perhaps a cup of tea.  Laters!

A Buffy The Vampire Slayer Mixtape Love | Songs for Angel & Buffy

So, we had a Sarah Michelle Gellar moment last week when we travelled back to Cruel Intentions territory, however it was less about her ; and more about her stepbrother Ryan Phillipe/Sebastian (in the movie only) being booed up with Reese Witherspoon/Annette.

However, she reminded us of the ultimate tragic and romantic 90’s couple.

When the slayer met the vampire…

It has to be Buffy and Angel.

Buffy and Angel 2

The thug tears that we cried over these two, especially when Angel went buck wild – tormenting Buffy after he lost his soul;  all of the vicious shenanigans that he put her through *sigh*. They had a make up to break up pattern that had us rapt.

Buffy and Angel 1

When it worked really worked.  We rooted for them – although we did kind of like the Spike hook up for a while (you had to love Spike he was one of our faves plus Xander, he gave such good snark), we hoped for a Buffy Angel wedding.

Also, Buffy and Angel were cooler than those Twilight kids; wasn’t Angel THE original Vampire crush?

So, in a salute to 90’s kids and the general epic-ness of Buffy (she will always be our hero) she had balls of steel…

Anyhoo, here is music inspired by Buffy and Angel.  Happy listening y’all.

We’re kind of cheating – normally we traverse the wedding universe to find and image, but we’re staying closer to our blog home, and today’s scheming and dreaming comes from a recent retrospective.
